Store Manager

Working in the fashion industry as a Retail Store Manager you are responsible for running stores to meet company's targets and policies. The aim of any Store Manager is to maximise profit for the fashion retailer whilst minimising costs. Retail Store Managers ensure promotions are accurate and merchandised to the company's standards, staff are fully versed on the target for the day and excellent customer care standards are met.

Depending on the size of the retail store, and the fashion company's structure, Store Managers may also be required to deal with Human Resources, Marketing, Logistics, Information Technology, Customer Service and Finance departments of the fashion company's Head Office.

Typical Store Manager activities involve: analysing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximise profits and touring the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers, and identifying or resolving urgent issues along with many other aspects. To get a job as a Store Manager you will have worked your way up from Retail Sales Assistant to a store supervisor to eventually becoming a Retail Store Manager and this experience would have been within a fashion retail environment.
