Compliance Job Description
Compliance professionals ensure that products, suppliers, processes and business practices meet relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and company standards. Depending on the role, this can include product safety, labelling, testing, restricted substances, supplier audits, ethical trading, environmental requirements and internal policies.
In fashion and retail, compliance teams work closely with buying, product development, technical, sourcing, production, sustainability and suppliers. They may manage documentation and certification, monitor supplier performance, coordinate audits and testing, investigate issues and ensure corrective actions are completed.

Working with suppliers and factories to ensure they meet required standards, policies and contractual requirements.

Coordinating and reviewing supplier audits, factory assessments and compliance checks, identifying risks and following up on corrective actions.
Testing & Certification
Managing product testing, certification and supporting documentation to ensure products meet required standards.
Ethical Trade & Social Compliance
Supporting responsible sourcing by monitoring working conditions, labour standards, modern slavery risks and ethical trading requirements across the supply chain.
Risk Management
Identifying potential compliance risks and working with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues before they become larger problems.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintaining accurate records, compliance documentation, reports and certification, while communicating key issues and performance to relevant teams.
