Factory Supervisor

Location: Long Eaton
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience, with potential to £38,000)
Hours: Compressed 4.5-day working week

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Factory Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility in Long Eaton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced production professional to take ownership of a busy factory environment, leading teams, maintaining high standards of quality, and ensuring efficient workflow across the operation.

The successful candidate will play a key role in motivating staff, driving productivity, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a safe and positive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily factory operations and production activities.
• Lead, motivate, and develop production teams to achieve performance targets.
• Monitor productivity, quality, and efficiency across all areas of the factory.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and company policies.
• Coordinate staffing levels and workload planning to meet business demands.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.
• Work closely with management to achieve production objectives and KPIs.
• Address operational issues promptly and implement effective solutions.
• Support training and development of team members.

About You

• Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong people management and communication skills.
• Ability to organise workloads and prioritise effectively.
• A hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements within a factory setting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Experience of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices would be advantageous.
