Part-Time Garment Technologist

A leading fashion retailer is looking for an experienced Womenswear Garment Technologist to join their team on a temporary basis.

You will work with the Design, Buying, Production and Quality teams to make sure garments fit correctly, meet quality standards and are ready for production on time.

This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, has good technical knowledge and is available to start immediately.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend garment fittings and check the fit of samples.
• Measure garments and provide comments on any changes needed.
• Update garment specifications and measurement charts.
• Communicate with overseas factories and suppliers about garment issues.
• Check fabric and garment testing results.
• Keep track of deadlines and production schedules.
• Help resolve garment quality and construction issues.
• Work closely with Design, Buying, Production and Quality teams.

About You

• Experience working as a Womenswear Garment Technologist.
• Experience with knitwear, jersey, woven garments, outerwear and tailoring.
• Good knowledge of garment fit, construction and grading.
• Confident communicating with factories and suppliers.
• Well organised, with good attention to detail.
• Good Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Experience with fabric, garment and compliance testing.
• Able to work in a fast-paced fashion environment.

What's on Offer

• Immediate start.
• Temporary rolling contract, initially for one month.
• Three days per week: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
• Weekly pay through a PAYE agency.
• Hybrid working in Central London, near Moorgate and Liverpool Street.
