As Buying Director of a fashion brand not only will you be part of the senior management team within the Fashion/Retail company, but you will also be a key member of the Board of Directors. The Buying Director will be supported by a senior team to manage the day to day running of the fashion Buying Team. They will be responsible for designing the strategy of the buying direction of the fashion brand to the Buying Managers and Senior Buyers, who will then communicate this to the Buyers, Junior Buyers and Buyers Admin Assistants.
The Buying Director is a pivotal role within a structured Buying Team. The Buying Director will be responsible for streamlining the organisational and fashion buying strategies across all product areas. Depending on the diversity and size of the organisation, these product areas could include womenswear, menswear, childrenswear, footwear, fashion accessories and homeware.
The Buying Director will ensure that the fashion brand is delivering balanced, cohesive and commercial fashion ranges throughout all channels within the business. This will involve working closely with the Design Director, the Merchandising Director and other senior members to ensure that essentially the fashion offering in store deliver on profit and style.
