Working in the Fashion industry as a Factory Manager your job is to oversee manufacturing operations and supervise operators. The main role of the Factory Manager is to improve manufacturing productivity and to reduce lead times of the product reaching the fashion or retail company.
The job role of Factory Manager involves full operational control over what happens at the plant including engineering, output, personnel, and will typically include areas such as quality control and safety. The Factory Manager within any fashion/retail environment has responsibility for implementing budgets, on line quality control, and dispatching finished goods to plan.
The Factory Manager plans production meetings, production activities, worker schedules, machine maintenance schedules and maintains budgets and product quality. An essential part of the job as Factory Manager is to see that the safety standards are being maintained within the factory and that workers are abiding by workplace safety rules.
The Factory Manager makes sure the product is meeting the level of quality demanded by the customer be it a supplier, retailer or fashion brand, and must investigate the root cause if quality is not met and procure a solution.
